Merrow Wholesale Auto - Deception, Deception, Deception
In March of 2009, a family member of mine purchased a Ford Taurus from Merrow Auto (Owners Jim and Cathy Merrow). The car was running great until a month later. My wife was down in Massachusetts and called me from her cell phone and told me that the engine was acting rough. When she left Massachusetts and just entered the New Hampshire border (Salem, NH) she called again and told me that the check engine light kicked on. After I got off the phone with her I called Merrow Wholesale Auto and asked to speak with Jim. Jim got on the phone and I told him what my wife described to me and basically Jim said sorry, there is nothing I can do. I mentioned the warranty that my wife paid extra for and he laughed. I told him that I was going to call the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and all he could say is that he doesn't care because the BBB doesn't own his business.
We brought the car to a reputable mechanic and they told us that the car belongs in a junkyard. The transmission was shot, the engine was blown and among numerous other things the mechanic told us to bring the car back to the dealer. Unfortunately, we are out almost $6,000 due to these *** dealers.
Jim and Cathy Merrow should be shut down. They lost their rights to use the "RED NEW HAMPSHIRE TEMP. PLATES" due to the fact that they sell cars not fit to be on the road. The following information comes from www.bbb.org. Also, the people who work for Jim and Cathy Merrow have extended criminal records.
